Back in the ol' days, many women sewed for their family as they could not afford to buy such luxuries as premade clothing, which was reserved for the wealthy. Everything from quilts and curtains to clothing was made from scratch. Making these balls was once a practical way of scavenging all leftover and last bits of unusable cloth, usually to be sewn into a rag rug for later.

My rag balls use no Styrofoam; they are made the old-fashioned way with cotton batting in the middle, making it mostly fabric. You will get 5 antiqued balls (all are different in beautiful patterns of Calico and Gingham; I will choose for you) in a clear gift bag tied with beautiful fabric and my hang tag with my graphic design explaining what rag balls are. Adorable nestled around the house in a dough bowl to give that real Prim look.

I do so enjoy making my Prairie creations for you!
